Amazon's single sign-on launched for Kindle Fire three weeks ago, and as of today it's now available on more standard Android-based devices. The straight-forward Amazon app available in Google Play has been updated to support the single sign-on service and integrates with Amazon's other apps for Android. Sign in with the Amazon app and your other Amazon services apps on your Android device will also be logged in.

Single sign-on through Amazon only works with Amazon's own apps, and only on devices running Android 2.3 or higher. The app also has gained a new icon that fits in with the more modern Android interface, instead of the older pseudo-3D gradient icon it used to have.

The Amazon for Tablets app hasn't yet been updated with Amazon single sign-in, but we imagine that's only a matter of time.

Portal has been winning awards from critics and praise from gamers since its first introduction in 2007, and the game is finally going mobile with a launch on the NVIDIA Shield. Following up after an announcement of the game for the Shield at GTC in March, Portal will be available to play in all its glory starting May 12th for $9.99.

Leveraging Valve's Source engine, Portal plays as an exact replica of the PC and console game on the NVIDIA Shield, with perfect support for the controller and landscape-only screen. Considering what this game requires in terms of resources it plays surprisingly well on the Shield, although I have to say there's a little bit of tweaking to do in the settings to make things just right. Graphics look good and best of all the controller input works flawlessly from joysticks to buttons and triggers and the mapping is customizable within the game.

Portal is a great purchase at $9.99 for anyone that wants to take a trip down memory lane and replay a great game while on the move with a Shield, and will also be a great choice for anyone that is looking for a true PC-level game on their mobile device. Going beyond this single title it marks a huge step in gaming possibilities now that NVIDIA and Valve have the Source engine running on Android, and we can only imagine what that holds in terms of future releases.

If you're okay with the price, you won't be disappointed by what's on offer with Portal loaded on the Shield. Unfortunately you'll have to wait a few days until May 12th for the game to be live for everyone in the Play Store, but we can assure you it's worth the wait.

If you happen to be in the market for a cheap but big Android tablet and don't mind if it's a model that's two years old, then oh do we have a deal for you. Following up on last week's Nexus 10 sale, Ebay is now selling the 16GB version of the 2012 model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (not the newer, better Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition) for just $299.99, with free shipping.

That's a reduction of $200 off the list price, though considering it's an older tablet that's not a huge surprise. The sale is also $80 less than you can grab the same tablet off Amazon, though if you want more storage, Amazon has the 32GB Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for just $50 more than eBay's 16GB sale. And yes, that's $30 less than Amazon's 16GB listing. Nobody said it had to make sense.

We've long been fans of TuneIn Radio as an Internet radio app, and some 50 million monthly active users agree. Today the app has received a major update that not only freshens its look it's now easier than ever to explore and listen to new content, and to help others do so as well.

For starters, you can now create your own customizable profile. That'll let your friends follow you and see what you're listening to on TuneIn. You can sign in with Facebook, which is nice, but we'd also love to be able to do so using our Google account. From there, you can "Echo" what you're listening to through your various social networks.

Meanwhile, there's the new Feed, which shows what's going on with your favorite TuneIn stations and shows or just use the Explore feature to drill down through the different categories. And, as always, TuneIn remains an excellent way to keep up with your local radio stations that also have online streams. (That's still one of our favorite uses for the app.)

The visual update is largely a good thing, though we'd love to see a dark version, and it's a little forced on tablets.

Evernote's app for iPhone and iPad is getting a nice update today with a business card reader feature that ties in closely with LinkedIn. After taking a picture of a business card through Evernote, a new cloud-stored note can be created with all of the important contact fields populated by information on the card and whatever it can pull in from a LinkedIn match. From there you can import the contact to your device's Address Book or shoot out a LinkedIn connection invite.

Business card scanning is a feature Evernote has been rocking in their people-centric app, Hello, for a little while now, and it's good to see it get nestled into the core app. As a guy who picks up a lot of business cards at trade shows, this is going to be really handy. The only pitfall is that the feature is reserved for premium subscribers, though Evernote is offering a year of scanning for those that connect to LinkedIn. How many business cards do you get in a year? What do you end up doing with them?

The Evernote update is available now in the iOS App Store (hence the iPhone in the video above), and will be arriving soon for Android on Google Play.
