Old Arcade Games

Are you looking for fun and non-violent video games for your kid or want to have fun yourself on your computer? If so, you can't go wrong with the old arcade games. The coin-operated machines may have disappeared from the malls and bars, however, it is still possible to play arcade games online. There are many websites offering the good old arcade games most of us were addicted to in the 1980's and enable you to revive your childhood or/and show your kid the types of games you enjoyed playing when you were his or her age. The games most kids play nowadays are very different from those we enjoyed in the 1980's but there are several arcade games that remain just as popular as they used to be three decades ago.

Here are a few old arcade games which are still fun to play:
Pong. Do you remember the two-dimensional game that simulates table tennis? The game that was released by Atari back in 1972 was one of the earliest arcade games. Despite its simplicity, Pong remains one of the absolute favorites in the gaming world and is still played by both young and old.

Pac-Man. How about the iconic yellow circle eating small dots in the maze while being chased by four ghosts that are moving faster and faster with each level? This arcade game that was released by Namco in 1980 is one of the most popular arcade games of all times and is enjoyed by both boys and girls of all ages. It is available in several different versions but many websites also offer the original version.

Tetris. The puzzle video game that was developed by Russian computer engineer Alexey Pajitnov in 1984 is another great choice for both boys and girls of all ages. Tetris is not only fun to play but it has been also shown to stimulate the brain which means that your kid can benefit from rotating the tetrominoes.

Space Invaders
. This game which foresees firing at the descending aliens by a laser cannon is another arcade classic that was developed and released by Tomohiro Nishikado in 1978. Although it involves shooting down alien spaceships, it lacks the brutality of modern shooting games which makes it a great choice if your kid prefers the shooting genre.

Frogger. This classic from the golden age of arcade games is a great choice as well if you are looking for fun online games that do not involve violence. Several versions of the game can be found online, however, most players prefer the original that was developed by Konami in 1981.
