A smaller Xperia Z1and a Snapdragon 800-powered GS4 for Japan
We got to see the Sony Xperia Z1 f a smaller version of Sony's current Android flagship for the first time a couple of weeks ago, thanks to anNTT Docomo brochure leak. And today we're seeing further evidence of the miniaturized handset's existence from what looks like a similar Japanese carrier leak. Today's brochure images, posted by Japanese blog RBMen, once again shows the Z1 f (codenamed "Itsuki") in black, white, lime green and pink colors.
The Z1 flooks likely to pack internal hardware almost identical to the full-sized Xperia Z1 a Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 20.7-megapixel camera and IP58-rated water and dust-resistance with only the screen being downscaled to a 4.3-inch 720p panel.
Meanwhile, the same article gives us our first look at the Samsung Galaxy J, which seems to be a Japan-centric version of the Snapdragon 800-powered Galaxy S4 we've seen in various countries in recent months. The chassis' appearance is a bit of a departure from the current Samsung design language, and the specs have been bumped up somewhat, too. The Galaxy J sports 3GB of RAM, compared to the regular S4's 2GB. Leaked images show the handset in "coral pink," "satin white" and "lapis blue."
It's unclear whether we'll see either device released internationally the Galaxy J in particular looks likely to be a Japan-specific model but we'll keep you apprised of any further developments.
