A supernova was discovered yesterday near the Earth than any other in its class. Astronomers believe they have found a supernova in the early hours after the explosion and the discovery of the supernova so early and so close to Earth was the astronomical community buzzing with excitement.
What is a supernova? It 'been a tremendous explosion that causes the onset of radiation, which can often blur the entire galaxy before fading from view for more than a couple of weeks or months. During this relatively short period of time, a supernova can radiate more energy as the sun is expected to release its entire life cycle. (It 'a lot of energy.) Astronomers from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, has made a discovery and I think one of the most studied in the history of supernovae. Joshua Bloom, assistant professor of astronomy, has called "a supernova of a generation".
