Sales topped 10,000 on opening day; no U.S. operator has announced plans to carry
LG has revealed that it has sold over 500,000 Optimus G Pro devices in Korea just over a month after release on February 21st. The 5.5-inch behemoth, which was first shown off at MWC, is a spiritual successor to the original Optimus G focusing more on raw specs and less on design. If you needed a little spec refresher, the Optimus G Pro is packing a huge 5.5-inch 1080P display, Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and every other bell and whistle (both hardware and software) that LG could come up with. With all of that in one device, it's no surprise that it has sold well in Korea. There's still no indication when (or if, save for a vague reference in the original press release) the device will ever make it to U.S. shores, but we surely hope that it does considering at least two carriers picked up the original Optimus G. If you haven't had a chance to read our review, be sure to do so -- you can then be appropriately excited if availability of the device is announced stateside.
