Are you still rocking a MetroPCS device that uses their legacy CDMA network? The clock is now ticking for you to upgrade to a device that support's T-Mobile's HSPA+/LTE network instead. Customers in Las Vegas and New England are being prompted to upgrade before June 30th. Starting July 1st the legacy CDMA network in those regions will no longer operate.
Don't worry, it's not all gloom and doom. T-Mobile, who merged with MetroPCS in late 2012, will offer discounts on new phones for those needing to upgrade. Just head into your local MetroPCS store location to see if you're eligible for an upgrade.
Again, it looks like this is just for those in Las Vegas and New England. If you have an older MetroPCS device that connects to the legacy CDMA network you should be fine for now. T-Mobile/MetroPCS will alert you when it's time to upgrade. Visiting Las Vegas or New England with one of those old CDMA devices? You'll end up roaming and may incur additional charges.
